Video Manipura - Awakening of the Inner Fire
Have you heard of the "Iceman"?

Wim Hof is probably the most inspiring man (at least in our western culture) for having awakened his Inner Fire.

Wim is keeping up around 20 World Records and therefore received the name "The Iceman".

He climes Mountains, runs Marathons barefoot and just in shorts in temperatures down to -20 degrees celsius. He does the impossible!

Wim accomplished this after 30 years of training and mirroring himself in hard nature. This man is a living prove of mind over matter. He learned from the Tibetan Monks in the Himalaya.

He is a true inspiration!!

RE: Manipura - Awakening of the Inner Fire
Quote: (source: Wikipedia) In 2011 Hof broke the ice endurance record twice, in Inzell in February and in New York in November. The Guinness World Record is now set for 1 hour and 52 minutes and 42 seconds by Hof.[8] On 18 April, Hof got the test results regarding the "The influence of concentration/meditation on autonomic nervous system activity and the innate immune response" case study, demonstrating that he is able to directly influence his own Autonomic Nervous System and Immune System. Hof seems to be able to raise his cortisol levels and lower the amount of cytokines (flammatory bodies) just by using his meditation techniques. A different study on Hof while immersed in ice showed that Hof suppressed the cytokines by 100 percent.[9] In September 2011, Hof also ran a full marathon in the Namib Desert without water. The run was performed under the supervision of Dr. Thijs Eijsvogels.[10]

And here is a clip where some scientific tests are made on him. He gets injected a deadly bacteria in a hospital... and the result? I won't spoil it for you Big Grin

RE: Manipura - Awakening of the Inner Fire
I recommend books by Alexandra David-Neel.
There she describes her journeys in Tibet and amazing feats of Buddhist monks using Tummo Yoga - competitions of melting snow around themselves in radius of couple of meters, or drying wet carpets they're wrapped in, while in minus temperature Smile
Very amazing! Smile

RE: Manipura - Awakening of the Inner Fire
Great resources Smile I teach a bit myself and publish some classes online for home practice. This one is of course mostly about core activation and asana practice, but there is a nice meditation at the end as well: http://shunyashunya.net/?c=Videos&v=Play...VideoID=48
